PMD Packaging Systems has been serving the food industry for the last 40 years. The company was the first in Africa to start producing vertical form fill and seal machines, and so far the company has installed close to 3000 machines in a broad cross section of industries throughout Africa..
 
The company operates from a factory at Muldersdrift near Honeydew, north of Johannesburg. In addition there are branches in Cape Town and Durban. Approximately 75% of the staff employed are involved in manufacturing or service work.
 
Every year PMD exports a large share of its output to countries mainly in Africa and even as far as Papua New Guinea.
 
Throughout the years PMD has put technical development at the top of its agenda with the result that its products are widely recognized as the leaders in the field of food packaging machinery.

COMPANY PROFILE

PMD designs and builds all its machines using in house resources at the factory a few kms north of Johannesburg, South Africa. This includes:- CAD design, machine shop, sheet metal working and assembly facility as well as a test centre.
 
The company currently employs a workforce of about 25 people and also subscribes to employment equity and equal opportunity.  The company also offers in-house training to its employees and has developed training programs for customer.opportunities to selected trainees and also for customer’s operators.
 
All components are available from PMD or from local stockists. Furthermore PMD has technical support services located in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
